Neue Musik von Pale Waves

Der neue Song "Jealousy"

Nach "Reasons To Live" und "Lies" ist "Jealousy" die dritte Single-Auskopplung ihres kommenden Albums Unwanted. Dem Inhalt des Songs steht die aktuelle zumindest oberflächliche (und wahrscheinlich auch nur gefühlte) Begeisterung offener Beziehungen gegenüber. Die Frontfrau Heather Baron-Gracie sagt zum Song: 

"Some may see it as ridiculous, but I love a bit of jealousy - not too much, but just enough... I want jealousy in a relationship because it shows me the person only has eyes for me and me only."

Dementsprechend lauten die Lyrics von "Jealousy": 

Don't mention any other name that doesn’t sound like mine /
I don’t ever wanna know who you’ve been with before /
And all your old photos, they don’t exist anymore

 
Für den Song haben sich Pale Waves mit dem US-amerikanischen Produzenten Zakk Cervini zusammengetan, der in der Vergangenheit auch schon mit Blink-182, Good Charlotte, Halsey oder Machine Gun Kelly gearbeitet hat. 

Zum Albumtitel erklärt Heather, es spiegele das Gefühl wider, das gerade viele ihrer queeren Fans von Familienmitgliedern oder Freund*innen zu spüren bekommen haben, nachdem sie ihre Coming-out hatten.

"Almost everyone has felt like they don't belong, or has been made to feel like they're not good enough. That's a consistent theme that I'm seeing from our fans – that their family doesn't approve of them, or their friends have disowned them because they've come out. So, Unwanted had to be honest, provocative and loud. Not only thematically, but in the music as well." - Heather Baron-Gracie
