The Avalanches: We Will Always Love You

Die neue LP We Will Always Love You ist am 11. Dezember 2020 via Universal Music Australia Pty. Ltd erschienen. Damit ist die Platte das erste neue Album von The Avalanches, seit 2016 Wildflower erschienen ist. We Will Always Love You ist generell das dritte Album in zwei Jahrzehnten und kommt mit einem ganz besonderen Sound: Von Trip-Hop-Backbeats und interstellaren Keyboards bis zu, ja fast schon, außerirdischen Klängen ist alles dabei.

Ein paar Wochen zuvor teilten sie schon das Albumcover und erwähnten, dass Ann Druyan, Peabody-Gewinnerin und Creative Director des Voyager Golden Record Project, auf dem Cover zu sehen ist.

Ein Album voller Features

Das neue Album der Avalanches strotzt nur so von großen Features. So sind auch Blood Orange, ("We Will Always Love You"), Rivers Cuomo und Pink Siifu ("Running Red Lights"), Jamie xx, Neneh Cherry und CLYPSO ("Wherever You Go") und Sananda Maitreya und Vashti Bunyan ("Reflecting Light") auf We Will Always Love You zu hören. 16 von 25 Tracks sind mit Partner*innen!

Die zweite Vorab-Single war "Music Makes Me High" - ein sample-basierter Disco-Pop Track mit Gospel-Chor Einsatz:

Album Release Party

Mit der Veröffentlichung von We Will Always Love You ist es noch nicht ganz getan, The Avalanches haben sich nämlich etwas besonders ausgedacht: Am 19. Dezember wird es ein DJ-Set des Duos zur Einweihung des neuen Albums geben. Auf dem Dach von dem Curtin House in Melbourne kannst du via Livestream die Party von zu Hause miterleben. Tickets gibt's hier.
